Responsible
Making a positive impact, acting sustainably
We have a positive, uplifting impact on our clients, our sectors, our society and our environment. We think and act sustainably.
Perspectives
Olaf Kranz, Germany Managing Partner, discusses our responsibilities to one another and to society.
"Aware of its environmental impact, our colleagues in Paris have recently launched TWF Green, an internal initiative to help combat our impact.
TWF Green aims to reduce single plastic use in the office, promote responsible office consumption and behaviours, and develop all staff awareness around environmental issues."

"We are responsible for the work that we present to our clients. By taking ownership, we become their trusted partners, not just legal advisers.
Internally, as our firm grows in size, we are also responsible for the career development of our junior colleagues.
We regularly reach out to check with them if they have any work or personal issues and ensure that they have sufficient and proper supervision, which seem to be key factors that make the workplace attractive for younger lawyers."

Framing 'Responsible'
Responsibility in action
"Throughout the challenges of 2020, John Haresnape (Head of Business Development – International Practices & Sectors in the UK) kept the entire international BDMC team feeling connected, positive and reassured.
He regularly caught up with each of us, scheduled team catch-ups, and shared his own personal stories to inspire and motivate us through the challenges that 2020 presented. He rose to the occasion and kept us optimistic, taking on the role of a father figure to many of us.
For me, and for others in the team, John embodies the value of responsible. We saw him at his very best during last year, and continue to see his work-ethic, team spirit and integrity play out every day.
He always had the firm's best interests at heart as well as our own. He continually takes a responsible attitude to his work and to leading the team, and for this we are very grateful."

"In France, we launched the TWomen initiative in 2015, a business network gathering our female Partners and Counsels with their female clients.
Promoting gender diversity, the club meets every quarter during a networking or round-table event to discuss collaborative and empowerment topics.
The club is dedicated to our female clients and its community is constantly expanding over time."
